Account, deleted items and deleting your account

Sign out

  • Browser extension Sign out at the bottom of the full view's sidebar or in the side panel's MoatKey menu. (The popup only has Lock.)
  • Android app Settings → Sign out.
  • On the locked screen: Sign out of this account.

Recently deleted

Deleted items stay in Recently deleted for 30 days. Only owners and Castle Admins can see it.

  1. Open the Castle and choose Recently deleted.
  2. Choose Restore to bring an item back for everyone in the Castle.

Delete forever

Choose Delete forever to remove an item now. MoatKey asks for your master password again to confirm. This can't be undone.

Delete your MoatKey account

  1. Cancel any paid plan first. A Google Play subscription must be cancelled in Google Play.
  2. If you own a shared Castle with other people in it, remove them first.
  3. Browser extension Tools → Unlock & security. Android app Settings → Master password & recovery.
  4. In Delete my MoatKey account, choose Delete my account….
  5. Enter your Master password, type DELETE, and choose Delete my account for good.

If something blocks deletion, MoatKey tells you what, with Check again. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone. Export a backup first if you want a copy.
