Password generator

Open the generator

  • Browser extension Tools → Generator, the popup's Password generator button, or Generate next to a password field.
  • Android app Password generator on the main screen, or Generate next to a password field.

Passwords are made on your device and aren't stored until you save them.

Passwords

  • Length: 8 to 128 characters (20 by default).
  • Character types: A–Z, a–z, 0–9 and !@#$.
  • Avoid look-alikes (0 O 1 l I |).
  • Include at least one of each.
  • Browser extension Never use these characters, for sites that reject some (in the full view).

Passphrases

  • Words: 3 to 12 (5 by default).
  • Separator: hyphen, period, underscore or space. Browser extension The extension also offers none.
  • Capitalize words and Add a number.

MoatKey shows how strong the result is (Weak, Fair, Strong or Very strong). Choose Copy, ↻ New, or Browser extension Use this password to put it in the form.
