Quick Find
Last updated October 23, 2026
Quick Find is the search box at the top of MoatKey. Start typing a name, a site or a username and the matches appear under the box. With the keyboard you can copy a password without opening anything.
Open it
- Browser extension Click the box (“Find a login or Castle”) in the popup or the full view. Inside a MoatKey page, press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) to jump to it.
- Phone app The search box on the home screen is Quick Find.
What it finds
Quick Find matches the name first, then the site, the username and tags. Typing a few letters in order also matches. It searches the open Castle. Other Castles show up as name rows; choosing one opens that Castle.
Keys in the browser extension
- Up / Down move through the matches.
- Enter copies a login’s password, or an authenticator’s code.
- Shift+Enter opens the item instead.
- Esc goes back.
Under the chosen row are buttons for Copy username and Open. In the popup, a login that matches the page you are on also gets Fill. Fill appears only in the popup, and only for a login that matches the current page. It uses the same checks as the normal fill button, including the warnings for pages that are not secure or that belong to a different site.
The Dungeon
Dungeon items always open instead of copying, and the item asks for proof before it shows anything. Quick Find never copies a Dungeon secret. See The Dungeon.
On the phone
- Tap a result to open it. A Dungeon item opens inside its guard.
- Tapping a Castle opens that Castle.
- Nothing is copied from Quick Find on the phone. Open the item to copy.
- When the box is empty it shows your recent items and Castles.
